Do you plan out a topic before you go write your blog? Or do you even write your blog and edit it and then re-write it and then post it? Or do you just go open the "new page" window and start typing?

I mostly plan. Sometimes I write it out before hand, depending on what I'm writing and if I've had a general idea for a while, sometimes the right words just hit me and I write it out.
I plan more for my Dreams of Change blog and am more free flowing with my Art blog.

I chose mostly. Planning is kind of built into the process for my blog.

Each post starts with the photo. As you may know these images I take with my phone camera and upload from my phone directly to my blog. Every pic I upload creates a new post - there is no function to put 2 pics in one post which is restrictive, but it works for me, for this blog.

So do I plan the pictures? Sometimes - but mostly I just take the pic on a whim... hold it on my phone for a few mins until I can think of a catchy title (though sometimes that happens immediately) and then send it. Very occasionally I think of a theme I want to post about and look for an existing pic in my phone that I can use for it... I did this with Negativity and Be yourself

The text I add later, often much later... like days, or weeks. The concept of the post floats around in my head until something forms - sometimes this takes longer than others. Then I open the blog page and post. I don't plan the post technically, just what I want to say. Then I just throw it up and edit it when I am done. The editing is usually just typos but sometimes I get a bit artistic and craft the syntax a little.

I have a general idea, usually. I rarely plan. I also very rarely edit. :) :)

Because mine's a journal as well as a blog, the daily life stuff I just type whatever comes to mind, but sometimes I'll get blogging ideas and I'll write posts on a variety of topics and then save them as drafts to put up a day at a time.

I get ideas about blog posts throughout the day, and sometimes I can expand on them and have the whole plan mapped out in my head. Other times I have an idea and forget it as the day goes on, remember I wanted to blog, then sit there and stare at a blank screen trying to remember what I was going to post. lol When I post updates and whatnot in my family blog though, it usually revolves around something that's happened, or several things. And I try to plan the blog around the pictures (or video, depending haha).

I haven't blogged in a long time, but when I did, I rarely had a plan. Generally I was moved by something going on or something I saw then it pretty much became freewriting. In the end I'd go back through and change things, correct things, expand things, and add photo's where needed. Though, for the most part, there would be a running theme and they would easily move from one point to another, but I never really have a plan of what I want to blog, it just kind of comes up.
