For those musically inclined.. Only appropiate place I found for this, as there is no music corner.

Do you still practice? If not, do you miss it?
I do. I haven't touched my flute in a good three years. Longer than that, but the number is depressing. Its still in relatively good condition, it just needs some work done on the corks.
What really has suffered though is my breathing. I played a little bit today. It felt wonderful to be playing again, but I was winded halfway through the song. (I should have stuck with something easy, but of course I went straight for the classical music.)
Oh, for all you singers out there... feel free to join in. Your voice is an instrument as well, just one you're born with
What I really miss, oddly enough, is performing. It was usually nothing big, just the local events at the town and local churches. The biggest one was a state wide competition. I missed going to nationals by 10 points.

I miss playing guitar a bit, but I'm selling both of mine because of the move. I'm going to go back to playing bass though, I love my bass.
I really miss piano...and violin...
And I've not had the confidence to sing in a very long time, which sucks a little. Well. A lot.

I am musically useless... we own a guitar, but tho I would love to learn to play, I think it is prolly a pointless waste of time cos 1) i have zero rhythm and strumming seems like a technical impossibility and 2) I would never be able to sing while I play cos I can't multitask... or sing.
But I would love to be able to sing. And play the guitar.
If there is enough interest (I know Autumn may be interested) I can make a music forum... or, hold on there is already a music forum. I can make a creative music forum, lol.

Edit: Oh, I figured that that music forum was just for cd's and that kind of music. But that would probably be a better place for this thread.
Also: you should start learning the guitar while I relearn my flute! We can practice "together"
we'll get jen on the bass and autumn singing.. we'll have a NL band! hehe

Need the money, and one of the guitars was from an ex so I really don't want to have it around for much longer.
Oh, I can play the drums too.... But have no drum kit...
I totally suck at the flute (not literally obviously, 'sucking' and 'flute' do not go together!), so I'm super jealous of your flute ability.

I played the flute once upon a time ago. I think I haven't picked it up in three years and that was just to move it from one apartment to the next. I haven't played in, oh, five years? Give or take. I was never particularly good and it was never a passion, but band practise when I was in high school was fun (two of my best girls were in band, too. Every Tuesday night! Good times). Maybe I should dig it out and see what I can do. There is a small casual group that meets in the Fall and Winter, here. Maybe if I polish up I can have a new hobby.
I also used to sing in the Dawson Creek Symphonette and Choir (I sang in the choir, not the symphonette  ). We did operettas every year. It was fun. (I can't sing worth shit, but I sound really good with forty other people singing loudly around me.)

I was in my school choir. We sang in Canterbury Cathedral every Christmas and there was one year that our teacher wrote a piece for 10 of us to sing, and I was the only alto in that 10. Sang in Italy three years running as well. And I was in 5 out of 7 school productions. I got 4 duets in the last one, though they were more like solos.

I was never brave enough to sing in a choir. I always felt to embarrassed. Yet with my flute, it was worth facing the dreaded audience.
I have a horrible shyness, so it made concerts and such a real trial for me. But once I started playing, it was worth it.
But then again, who wants to listen to a girl with a stutter and lisp singing? ;)
Edit: thank you lolah, for the move

I played the trombone and baritone in school. And I haven't picked up my trombone in a while...I probably would need to seriously grease the slide if I were to do that.
I was in chorus, but I actually dropped it to pick up more band. I am the ultimate band geek. LOL
This is making me want to get my instrument out and play a little, though I may annoy some in my house...haha

wow, i havent picked up an instrument since HS. i dabbled with several. started on violin in middle school. then clarinet. went on with the clarinet in HS and come marching band season of my jr year, switched to trombone. also played alto sax in jazz band. that killed my embouchure for clarinet. i tried piano, and taught myself a few simple songs. but wasnt too successful. if anything, id love to get my hands on another violin....
